We Got You 1776, LLC is a Veteran-founded education-technology company that builds tools helping military families plan their education benefits. It helps them understand and use the education benefits they have earned. The whole posture is plain: use what you have, in the order that works, within the rules that already exist. Its first product, College Tool, is on the App Store and Google Play. It puts military family college planning in one clear picture instead of four scattered ones.

At the heart of the company is a promise. Free, lifelong mentorship for the children of service members who did not come home. That promise is the reason the rest of this exists.

A founder who has run real operations.

You would work directly with RA, the founder. He built We Got You 1776 and College Tool after twenty-one years in the Air Force, most of it in Air Traffic Control, where he came up through every level to Chief Controller. Mid-career, at the Air Force Materiel Command headquarters, he was the Air Traffic Control career field's point of contact above the base level, and when the Space Operations mission moved under the command he absorbed the whole portfolio, running two headquarters' worth of work at once. He deployed to a U.S. embassy in Pakistan. His last job in uniform, asked for by name, was Chief Controller of the two-facility tower at Patrick Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral, which he held until he retired in 2024, and he stayed on at Cape Canaveral as a civilian on the Eastern Range through 2025, at the NH-III senior professional grade.

What that means for you is simple. For most of the last decade, nearly every role he held was really two jobs at once, and he ran them where getting it right actually mattered. He now runs We Got You 1776 full-time as Founder and Sole Member, based in Melbourne, Florida. This internship is a chance to learn how that kind of discipline gets applied to building a company from nothing.

You will wear a few hats.

This is a small company in its first weeks, so the work is real and varied. Depending on your strengths and what you want to learn, you could touch:

• The website. Building it, improving it, keeping it honest and clear.
• The mentorship program. Helping shape how the lifelong mentorship promise reaches the families it is for.
• The campus mission. Helping students and counselors spread the word on the campuses where it matters.
• Veteran and community outreach. Connecting with Veterans education benefits groups and the wider community.
• On-the-ground events, when schedules line up and you are local.

The voice of this company is plainspoken. No marketer energy, no hype. You will be expected to write and speak the same way.

Remote-friendly, with one thing that is mandatory.

Remote-friendly is the default. You can do every part of this job from anywhere in the country.

Local applicants within reasonable distance of Melbourne, Florida get an optional bonus: you can join the founder at Veteran-organization meet-and-greets and community events when schedules line up. This is voluntary. Travel is never required. If you cannot make it, no problem.

One thing is mandatory regardless of where you live: peer outreach. You will be asked to share the mission within your own networks, your school, your friends, the people you already trust who could benefit from this. This is not cold-calling strangers. It is being a voice the way the company has been built to operate: people who already believe in something telling people they already know. Mission success depends on it.

We are not looking for a specific skill set. We are looking for someone who wants to learn how a startup is actually built and is willing to put real work into it. If you already have web, marketing, social, writing, design, or outreach skills, great. If you do not yet and want to learn, also great. What matters is that you are motivated, reliable, communicate clearly, and care about the mission.
