It started with one family’s math.

This did not start as a business. It started with a father at a table, planning a few years ahead for his own family, working the college benefits math by hand.

He wanted to know the real answer. Not a brochure answer, the real one. If his daughter used the Post-9/11 GI Bill®, what would housing actually cover at one school versus another. What happened if she changed schools, or did a year overseas. The deeper he looked, the more he saw how many education benefits exist across different family situations, each with its own rules, and how the rules talk past each other.

So he did what a lot of military parents end up doing. He worked it out on paper. He lined up the programs side by side and tried to see them as one plan instead of four separate ones. It took a while. And when he finished, the thing that stuck with him was not the answer. It was how hard it had been to get to it, and how easy it would be for a family to leave something on the table just because nobody put the pieces in the same place.

He figured someone had already solved this. He went to the App Store and looked. He searched the way a tired parent searches, plain words, late at night. Post-9/11 GI Bill planning. Military family college planning. He found calculators that did one piece. He found pages that explained a single benefit. He did not find anything that put them into one ordered plan and showed what the order did to the total.

That bothered him more than it should have. These benefits were earned. Families had already paid for them in time away, in moves, in deployments. The information was out there, but it was scattered across agencies and school offices and forum threads, and the people who needed it most were the ones with the least time to chase it down.

So he wrote it down. Not to change any rule and not to promise anyone a bigger number. Just to take what a family already has and lay it out clearly, in the order that works, inside the rules that already exist. He wrote it for his own daughter first, the plain-language guide that became the free book. Then he turned the method into the app, so any military family could run it without doing the math by hand.

That is the whole story. A parent who could not find the tool he needed, so he wrote the guide and built the app, and decided not to keep either to himself.
